Everyone has one, what's yours?

We are born, we live, we die. We have the same structure of any good film, play or book - three acts. Act 2 is perhaps the longest and most believe is the part that determines when and how Act 3 happens? What do you think?

In any case, our life, our story is the very thing that makes us all unique. None of us are perfect and that's what makes us all unique, special, different and ultimately allows us all to offer something no one else has. Part of my work with my clients is determining what that is and why or how that is important to ourselves and others.
I focus on all aspects of a person, but my own love of fashion brings the visual and asethetic understanding into play alot. Why do we wear what we wear and what do we want it to say about us? Does it reflect 'our story'?
Our fashion gives us glimpses of our story as it shifts and evolves all the time but there are always constants. I looked at some old videos of me and couldn't help but think how many hair styles I've had! I do like changing my appearance that's for sure, but why? I love to create, so why not work on yourself - we are the ultimate canvas!
So what are our constants? I believe there are certain levels, for example I blew dry my hair for 20 years straight and had many different colours and lengths, but it was always straight because I didn't like my own curly hair. I was teased at school for having frizzy hair, so those sort of experiences stay with you and it's only been the last 10 years that I've embraced my curls - an exterior reflection of my own self acceptance. Curls - you just have to know how to work with them, like everything in life, any challenge is a opportunity for growth.
What other constants, well that is my love for fashion and personal development. If I was a character in my film (which I am!), she is determined to share and inspire others through what she creates, she's always trying new things and looking for ways improve her mental and physical health. Does she fail? Hell yes, does she get back up, hell yes! Does she know her learnings will help others - she knows it will.
My story is ongoing and knowing the characters and the goal is for all of us to determine - what makes it interesting, is to get clear on what is really at stake.

If my character doesn't feel inspired or hopeful about all things in her life, then she could fail, she could be seen as someone who doesn't really know how to find self love and happiness - yes there is a lot at stake for her. But guess what, she's not perfect and thank god for that.
That is MY story, my journey and my plot to write and work with. all my learnings and my tribulations are part of who I am and what makes me me.
What we ultimately want to do in our life is usually what we most need to learn and yes finding self love and happiness has been my journey because I needed to find it the most. Has it made me an expert at knowing 'how' to find it - absolutely! And I help others discover themselves and their passions like I had to do - my journey has been my gift.
A great way to start to understand yourself and your goals is to look at yourself as a character in YOUR film or book. You can watch and discover yourself without all the 'heady' judgements and self critique. It's a wonderful way to start caring about your lead characters and the supporting roles, yes start caring about you.
Love and sparkle xo
