Why find Self Love?

Ever since I can remember I was doing personal development.  I tried nearly every self-development course, read every book, went to every type of healer, practitioner, psychic and continued to explore how to have the best life I could.  Yes til this day I am nicknamed by my friends and family the ‘Personal Development Queen!’

The main learning I have found throughout my experiences is that self love is number one, without self love how can you possibly love another or allow someone to love you.  Therefore keep in mind, personal development is about finding the right tools for YOU to help build self love.

So how do you find the right personal development for you? Everyone will do it differently because we all experience things individually. That’s why when I excitedly tell my husband about something and he doesn’t get it, or have any desire to do it, it’s because he thinks differently – and yes men do think differently over and above that, but that’s another conversation.

I do know that nearly all of the books, courses, practitioners I’ve experienced work for most people AND they’ve loved their experience.  So if you are looking to create self love, which in turn brings confidence and a happier more fulfilled life, then start by asking the question - what do I need to do?

What will happen?  Sometimes things will change seamlessly and open up magically to a new world and sometimes it won’t. It can make you face things you’ve long denied and that may hurt, but remember pain is just resistance and thank goodness things change all the time and that pain will go.

So be the change if you want someone else to change or you want YOURSELF too, because we have only one precious life – I say make the most of it!

 HOW TO START

Just by setting your intention you have taken your first step…yes that’ it!  If you have clicked onto this part of my site, a part of you wants to shift to see if you CAN shift something to make life more fulfilling. And the answer is YES you can shift something that is unwanted in your life or if you want to make things a bit easier, a bit happier, you can do that too.

Change can feel hard or can feel exciting – or both!  How you respond to change is up to you.  So for me personally, I just have to make sure I keep mindful that I’m responsible for my feelings and how I’m responding, it helps me a lot.

My role for you is to guide you by using my knowledge and experience to point you in the right direction to start your own personal journey.

 1.   LOUISE HAY YOU CAN HEAL YOUR LIFE    This book to me is the 101 of Personal Development, it was the first book I read that made sense and was so wonderful to read.  It’s one you’ll have forever, because it has a list of all the ailments you can get and you can look up to see what emotional problem could actually be causing the physical problem!  It’s sooooo fascinating! The affirmations are a bit weak, but the explanation is spot on!

 2.  YOGA  I would do at least one class of yoga week, whether it’s at home on a DVD or in class (class is always good because you do get pushed more than if we were by ourselves…I know I do…)  The reason for this is that yoga is about preparing the mind for change.  When I had my biggest breakthrough was when I started doing yoga, nothing else, and then finally something changed in my mind.  I totally know this works!  If for whatever reason you can’t do it, then at least make sure you walk 3 times a week and do some basic stretches, especially open up your sides, that is where you open yourself up to change more, when you stretch the sides of the body.

 3.  VISION BOARD  Start your life’s vision, what do you want to achieve?  What are your goals?  Sounds simple and alot of the time we go “Well isn’t it obvious??? Great body, lots of money and a wonderful relationship?’  Yes and no.  You need to get down to the nitty gritty.  I personally do a powerpoint document (because I’m like that) and put headings on each page. I pull pictures off the web of places I want to go, picture of a lot of money, I’ve stuck my head of someone else’s body (much to the freakout of my son and hubby) but it works!  If you don’t want to use the computer, just write words an sentences down like ‘I LOVE IT WHEN I HAVE A JOB I FEEL LOVED AND APPRECIATED IN’ etc.

RELATIONSHIP  *  CAREER  *  WORK  *  HEALTH  *  TRAVEL  *  MONEY  *  & ANYTHING ELSE….

A great thing would be to do is to see any of my recommended methods/practitioners which I've got below and of course keeping on track is great (below) when you are ready.

So well done and soooooo happy you are doing this for yourself, that’s all it takes, a little bit of nurturing, it’ll make the world of difference!

 KEEPING ON TRACK

KEEPING ON TRACK    So you’re one of my kind, you’ve seen some great people, done some revealing courses and you’ve read some wonderful books that you keep by your bed when you need some comforting words to sleep..oh sorry that’s me…

So now what – how do we keep on track and get ‘there’.  As you probably know, you never get there, this life is about how we live the journey and so how, is the question, do we maintain the learnings we have received.

Firstly we change and the learning and experience of the personal development work you have done will always be with you. You will draw on those in times of need and it has also opened up new thoughts or possibilities that will inspire your life and continued growth.

BUT how to keep inspired and maintain a happy healthy life?  I think the answer to that question will always change as we live our lives PLUS they will be different for each person. However, I think there are 3 basic rules that I like to follow…

 1.   MOVE YOUR BODY    I know that when I stop exercising everything slows, my mind, my body and my life.  It doesn’t matter what you do, just do it!

 2.  MENTAL HEALTH  Do one thing a week towards mental health, whether that be a meditation class, a visit to your chakra clearer or Kinesiologist (that’s me at present) or do an online course, read a new book, DVD…anything!  Put some energy towards your mind/spirit.

 3.  VISION BOARD  This is sooooooo important, even if you don’t look at it every day, be clear about your goals and see if you are heading towards them or not, if you don’t know where you are going, no-one else is going to know!

The most important thing is to be mindful of who you are and what you are being, the moment is all we have and if you feel like crap in it, don’t worry you are not alone, it’s human, it’s normal – the key is to acknowledge whatever you are feeling (even out loud) and move on, don’t get stuck in the muck, just take a step and move on.

Remember my site is here to help you with any practitioners or advice that will help you move on or even just to inspire…so enjoy!
